Journeys With PDA 2026 Retreat

Built for practitioners who work with PDA — and the families who live it

This is not a professional-only conference. Parents, caregivers, and PDAers attend the same sessions you do. That is intentional, and it is why the content lands differently.

Most conferences put you in a room with other practitioners. This one does not, and some professionals pass on it for exactly that reason. The feedback we hear afterward is consistent: the mixed room is not a compromise. It is the reason the retreat works.

What professionals report

We do not survey attendees for marketing quotes. The patterns below come from informal conversations, emails, and the things practitioners tell us in the months after the retreat.

Session depth

Attendees compare the programming favorably to professional-only conferences they have paid considerably more to attend. The draw is not a survey of familiar ground. It is frameworks and material that have not filtered into standard training yet — nervous-system-informed approaches, demand reduction, and practical ways to adapt existing models for PDA.

The room changes the content

This is the most-repeated piece of feedback. Practitioners describe hearing a parent ask a live question, or a PDAer describe what a strategy actually felt like on the receiving end, and finding that it reorganized information they already had.

The specifics of what failed and what finally worked do not make it into case studies. Sitting near the people who lived it is a different input than reading about them.

Continuing education

Many sessions offer CEUs, and where CEUs are not available we issue a certificate of completion that can be submitted toward CE requirements. Availability varies by session and by discipline.

We recommend confirming acceptance with your own licensing board before registering, because requirements differ by state and profession.

Cross-state networking

PDA is a small enough specialty that most practitioners work without nearby colleagues who share the focus. Attendees come from across the country and regularly leave with referral relationships in states where they previously had none.

Who attends

The professional mix includes clinicians, therapists, educators, school psychologists, occupational therapists, speech-language pathologists, and independent practitioners. Attendees travel from across the United States and a few from abroad.

Families and adult PDAers are not in a separate track. They are in the same sessions, asking questions from their own vantage point. The design is deliberate: the retreat is about the people who live PDA and the people who support them learning in the same room.

Continuing education details

We offer continuing education credits for qualifying sessions where we have secured board approval. For sessions without formal CEU sponsorship, we provide a certificate of completion noting the date, topic, and hours attended.

Certificates are emailed within two weeks of the retreat's conclusion. We cannot guarantee that every licensing body will accept every certificate, so we ask professionals to verify acceptance with their own boards before the event.

If you need a specific discipline or credit type covered, contact us before registering and we can tell you what is confirmed for 2026.
